Technology and the WOW factor

It is very rare I will hear my wife exclaim "Wow!" when it is related to technology.  Most of the time, I think it is used to quiet me down when I'm trying to talk to her about a new gadget or some crazy idea I've been thinking about.  Usually the tip off that I've lost her interest is when either her eyes glaze over as I'm talking, or she pulls out her iPhone and starts playing a game.

However, last night during a commercial, she uttered that word! "Wow!"  Wow is defined as excitement, interest, great pleasure, or the like: a car that will add some wow to your life on dictionary.com.  Honestly, I did not add the part about the car.  It is actually an example used in the definition.

Anyway, my world came to screeching halt.  Maybe you thought it was an earthquake in your area.  It was not.  It way my wife really saying that one, sweet word about...technology.

The commercial?  It was, of all things, a Cadillac commercial.  It was focused on the new infotainment system with "touch, tap pinch & zoom" like her iPhone.

Is this groundbreaking technology?  Nope.  But, it did impress my wife.  Unfortunately, she wasn't interested in talking more about the car or about me owning a Cadillac.

The thought of her being excited about technology still brings a tear to my eye...
