Today I finally came to the moment I never thought would happen. I had to turn away from my dear friend. I had to ignore my always faithful companion. I had to...power down...my mobile phone. It became too much of a distraction with its incessant beeping, buzzing and flashing.
Too many folks know my phone is always on, and have somehow twisted that knowledge into the logical conclusion that I must always want to talk, or play a game, or text, or or or. Well, today, they were wrong. Today, my phone was like the friend that won't zip it during a great movie. Blah blah blah. Wait! What just happened in the movie? Damn it, man, shut up!
I have this odd feeling my phone is going to find a way to retaliate for ignoring it. I'm sure the phone will activate the camera flash blinding me while I'm driving home from work one night. Maybe I've created a mobile phone version of Christine?
