Life is boring without change. Change must be embraced or one can easily lose their way or flounder. One cannot really grow if your comfort zone is never completely challenged as mine is now as I take on a new role in a new company.
New company.
New culture.
New industry.
New industry language and acronyms.
Recipient of many a weary eye by my new peers.
It's like the little girl who sang the National Anthem at my girl's swim meet this weekend. She took on the challenge of being uncomfortable in front of hundreds of people and did a great job. More power to her. One has to wonder if standing under the flag this weekend will be her launching point into a singing career. There are so many challenges that many of us do not accept as it will require us to be uncomfortable. I can count those that I chose to believe to be hard to take on; I wish I would have had the courage to take them on. I can also count those in which I accepted the challenge, and I know I'm a better person for having done them.
Embrace change.
